I am a writer, photographer, foodie and vintage seller---20 years ago I met ‘French Guy’ at a dog-park in Brentwood, CA never thinking that one day we would live in France. 12 moves around the West Coast and the Pacific Northwest, and we landed in Normandy France where we now live in a 374 year old farm house with ‘trois enfants’ a couple of cats and three King Charles Spaniels…. 24 chickens, 2 French Alpine goats ... and a bunch of cows… now and then!
In 2010 we packed up our two boys (with a petite-fille on the way!) three cats and three dogs and began our new life in Normandy, France after bidding a very fond farewell to our home and friends that we dearly loved in the Seattle area of the Pacific Northwest. The adjustment and transition to a new home and culture was not always easy and it wasn't until we found our 'maison de rêve' which we named Rabbit Hill in late winter 2013 that we really ALL felt that we had finally found HOME in the French countryside.
Home ... a place where one lives, especially together as a family. A place of affection, joy and happiness. A valued refuge and resting place. A habitation offering security and protection where family gathers and friendships flourish.
ON-LINE SHOP / In 2011 I opened an on-line shop for vintage and French home & lifestyle essentials called 'Sunday Brocantes'
SHOP HOURS / Sunday Brocantes opens for two days a month always on the 1st day of the month. I love finding French vintage items and adore sharing 'French Home & Lifestyle Essentials' that I have come to know and love since moving to France. Each pop-up opening of the shop is a little different, featuring a favorite style or item; kitchen wares, linens, or decor items -- and always with the rustic and authentic French country charm that we adore at Maison Rabbit Hill.
Based in Basse Normandy, I ship worldwide. I hope you will come by for a visit! Just click on the SHOP link above.
“The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins."
